About Us

Reformer pilates studio in renovated barn with exposed beams, large mirrors and windows, and all different types of equipment, including reformers, Cadillac, Wunda chair, spine corrector, Avalon chairs and ladder barrels

Driven by passion

After relocating from London, Jo refurbished a livery stable in Royal Wootton Bassett, turning it into a tranquil, state-of-the-art studio surrounded by countryside calm.

Here, Pilates isn’t just exercise or necessarily always about pushing harder, it’s a chance to reconnect with your body, breathe deeply and feel supported in a welcoming community.

The studio provides a professional space that prioritises precise, mindful movement that empowers your daily life.

Jo Orton

It took me a while.. but way back when, I discovered how quality movement and breath made me feel great.  My body and my mind..  and with the odd physical set back (that inevitably creep up on us!) pilates has always helped me overcome them.

I feel so much stronger with pilates in my life.  I believe pilates is a great method to have in conjunction with other forms of movement you may love, whether it be running, walking the dog, riding, tennis, a professional sport... It can help keep you strong and supple in the areas that need more focus and attention.

I was so lucky to be introduced to BASI Pilates. Recognised internationally for its academic excellence and innovation.

I qualified with BASI in 2014, fully comprehensive, in mat and all pilates apparatus: REFORMER, WUNDA CHAIR, CADILLAC, SPINE CORRECTOR, LADDER BARREL and the F2 CHAIR. All of which are in the studio.

Further education courses include:

  • PRE/POST NATAL PILATES

  • EQUESTRIAN PILATES

  • PILATES FOR INJURIES AND PATHOLOGIES

  • PILATES FOR THE MATURE CLIENT

  • ENHANCING ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE

BASI is where classical meets contemporary pilates.  My teachers recognise and honour the founders of this incredible method, Joseph (b.1883) and Clara Pilates.  At the same time they understand the inevitability of the evolutionary process, advances in medical knowledge and the science of human movement.
